Sarah Abonyi is a recent graduate of the University of New Mexico, with her bachelor of arts, cum laude, in psychology.
In 2013-2014, Sarah served as the Israel on Campus Coalition’s Grinspoon-Morningstar Fellow in New Mexico, and founded Lobos for Israel, the only active pro-Israel advocacy organization on campus. As president of Lobos for Israel, she spearheaded community efforts to combat the campus-wide Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. Through these efforts, the University of New Mexico undergraduate student senate rejected two BDS resolutions, and the graduate student government rescinded an anti-Israel bill.
In 2014, Sarah received the Woman of Valor award from the Jewish Federation of New Mexico and the Conflict Resolution award from the Graduate Professional Student Association of the University of New Mexico for her advocacy achievements.
