Dean Malissa

First Person Interpretive Actor/Historian

A life-long resident of Philadelphia, Dean Malissa entered the world of business – working his way from a junior salesman to the senior vice presidency of an international manufacturing firm. At age 46 he reinvented himself, became an actor and began portraying George Washington. Dean is the official and sole portrayer of Washington at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. He has appeared as Washington in film, TV and documentaries for nearly every major broadcast and cable network. His portrayal has taken him across the Nation as well as France and China. His work has been described in the best-selling book “My Life as an Experiment” by A.J. Jacobs. Forbes Magazine called him “the World’s greatest George Washington.” Dean is a professional member of the National Speakers Association.
