Ambassador Liora Herzl is the deputy director general for North America at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a position that she has held since 2012. Prior to that role, Herzl served as an instructor at Israel’s National Defense College. From 2001 to 2005, she served as Israel’s Ambassador to Norway and non-resident Ambassador to Iceland.
Herzl joined the Foreign Ministry in 1978 and has served in many roles including the director of the International Division in the Foreign Ministry’s Research Center, the MFA representative to the IDF Planning Branch and the director of the MFA’s Disarmament Negotiations Department. She has served in the Netherlands and in the Consulate General of Israel in Houston, Texas.
Herzl holds an MA in political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a BA in political science from Tel Aviv University.
