Darrell Friedman has devoted more than 40 years of professional service to the Jewish philanthropic world. Having been named senior executive consultant to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) in January 2013, Darrell served most recently as the interim CEO of the JDC and previously as JDC special consultant, specializing in foundation relations. In his current capacity, he serves as strategic consultant to the CEO. Previously, he served as in-house senior consultant to JDC’s CEO, advising on a multitude of issues most vital to the Jewish world. In addition, he served for 17 years as CEO of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. Darrell has been a strategic consultant to major national and international Jewish organization.
Prior to his tenure at The Associated, Darrell was senior associate executive vice-president of the Council of Jewish Federations and executive director of the Rochester Jewish Federation. Additionally, the Darrell D. Friedman Institute for Professional Development in Baltimore, a premiere training institution for talented young Jewish professionals, was named for Friedman in recognition of his long-standing mentorship of such professionals.
