Karen Kramer

Lion of Judah Endowment Chair, National Women's Philanthropy

Karen joined the National Women’s Philanthropy board of JFNA in 2009. She is currently serving as co-chair of NWP endowments and was a vice president and co-chair of social action from 2011 to 2013. Karen is a past member of UJC’s National Young Women’s Cabinet and has served as national vice chair for local communities from 2004 to 2005, national women's chair for orientation and mentoring from 2003 to 2004 and was the local cabinet chair for Philadelphia from 2002 to 2003. 

Karen has been active in the Philadelphia Jewish Community for more than 22 years. She is a member of the Jewish Federation’s board of trustees and has been vice president for women’s philanthropy since 2002. Karen was president of women’s philanthropy from 2008 to 2010.

Currently she is on the Philadelphia Federation’s endowments corporation board serving as the chair of endowment solicitations. She is also on the newly created campaign cabinet where she is chairing the donor management efforts. Karen chaired the coordinating council for the elderly and then the Center for Social Responsibility, an allocations division of her local Federation.

Karen is also on the board of the Abramson Center for Jewish Living, chairing the Abramson Care advisors and the marketing committee and is a member of the development and endowments committees. She is a member of Temple Sinai and chair of their Torah writing and fundraising project.  

Karen is married to Bill and they have three children: Melissa, Ben and Josh.
