Dana Keil is the director of Room on the Bench, a project of Luria Academy of Brooklyn, an open-Orthodox Jewish day school in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn for children ages 2-14. Room on the Bench works with students with special needs and their families to fully integrate them as members of the Jewish day school community.
Dana is also the director of special education and support services at Luria Academy. She is a certified special education teacher in New York for grades 1-12 and in Massachusetts for ages 3-21. Dana has a bachelor of science in severe special education from Boston University, and a master of science in special education with a focus on behavior disorders from Hunter College. Dana has worked in the New York City and Brookline, Massachusetts public school systems as a special education teacher in inclusive general education classrooms. She lives with her husband and son on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
