Tikvah Wiener is chief academic officer at Magen David Yeshivah High School in Brooklyn, NY and cofounder of the I.D.E.A. Schools Network, a network that helps educators implement project-based learning (PBL) and educational innovation. Tikvah became passionate about PBL through RealSchool, the inquiry-based, student-driven learning program she started in 2011 with her students at The Frisch School. In RealSchool, students learn by doing, collaborating with peers to create events and projects they are passionate about and that will better the world.
Tikvah was coordinator of interdisciplinary studies, chairman of the English department and an English and art history teacher at Frisch from 2001-2014, and began her career in Jewish education at The Samuel H. Wang High School for Girls in Queens, NY. She holds an MA from Queens College in English literature and creative writing and is a graduate of Stern College, where she earned a BA in English literature. She lives in Teaneck, NJ with her husband and three children, Solomon, Lila, and Isadora.
