Lara Abell has served as the Senior Event Director of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles for almost three years, taking the lead on many of the organization’s major fundraising events from conception to completion. In her position, she has helped generate hundreds of thousands of dollars to support impactful work in Los Angeles, Israel and over 70 countries across the globe. She has been instrumental in developing the Federation’s innovative new cycling fundraiser, Tour de Summer Camps, which has, over the last two years, helped increase funds to support scholarships that will give kids a life-changing experience at Jewish summer camp.
Prior to working for The Jewish Federation, Lara was the Marketing Manager at Spectrum Sports Management, and spent three years raising awareness and funds as the event marketing manager of United Way of Greater Los Angeles. A sports enthusiast, she has also played important roles in managing events such as the AT&T Champions Classic golf tournaments from 2004-2009 and the 2004 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
A proud wife and mother of two young boys, Lara gives back outside of work as well, serving as Fundraising Chair at Temple Beth Hillel’s preschool, and as a member of both the Parents Association and the Governance Council at Riverside Drive Charter Elementary School.
