Brenda Gevertz is the executive director of the JPRO Network, which connects and enhances professional leadership for the Jewish community. She is an advocate for professionalization of Jewish community services and has worked to build a network of local professional associations.
Brenda began her career as the first woman appointed to head a Hillel Foundation and received a prestigious Danforth Fellowship for post-graduate studies at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. She previously worked as the director of program services on Long Island for UJA-Federation and as the executive director of the North American Jewish Students Appeal.
She holds an MA in social service administration from Case Western Reserve University and is an honors graduate of the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. She has post graduate certifications in not-for-profit management from Columbia University’s School of Business, supervision (Adelphi University), grantsmanship (New School for Social Research) and in holocaust education (Yeshiva University). She resides in New York with her husband, Carl Rheins, and they are the proud parents of Jason and Jaclyn.
