As a planning associate in the Caring Commission of UJA-Federation of New York, Abbe oversees UJA-Federation’s safety net portfolio. She is responsible for disbursing over $6 million towards anti-poverty initiatives by managing a portfolio of over 60 grants that support critical services for poor New Yorkers. In partnership with lay leaders and network agencies, funds are allocated through a strategic analysis of needs in the NY Jewish community.
Prior to joining UJA-Federation, Abbe worked at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Most recently, she received a master’s in urban planning from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service, where she worked on a variety of projects related to affordable housing and community development.
