Shalom Elcott has served as the president and CEO of Jewish Federation and Family Services Orange County, CA. Over the past eight years under his leadership, the Federation campaign has doubled and exciting new ventures have been launched including SKILLSETnpo®, an executive level lay leadership development program; The Rose Project, training young leaders to successfully advocate for Israel and combat hate speech on campus; Israel Expo, which brings over 6,000 people to the Samueli Jewish Campus every year to celebrate Israel’s birthday; and, most recently the merger of Jewish Federation & Family Services.
Earlier, Shalom served as president and CEO of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, where he led the foundation’s mosaic of global philanthropic grant making and program efforts As part of his work with the Arison Foundation, Mr. Elcott created and launched Matan – Your Way to Give, the United Way affiliate of Israel, where he served as its founding director.
Shalom was co-founder and director for ten years of The Israel Air Force Center. The Center houses Israel’s Institute for the Study of Air War Power, the IAF Bereavement program and facilities, The Adelson Educational Institute, and the Rosenbloom Publications Center.
Shalom began his career with a nine-year term as the executive director of The American Committee for the Tel Aviv Foundation as special U.S. liaison to Tel Aviv Mayor Shlomo Lahat. Shalom currently resides in Aliso Viejo, CA with his wife Robin. They have three children and two grandsons.
