Janet B. Livingston

Co-chair, JFNA Human Services and Public Policy Disability Committee

Janet has been an active member of The Associated - Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore since 1984. Beginning as a member of the Young Leadership Council, she continued within the Federation, becoming active in Campaign and eventually was the Women’s Department campaign chair. A member of the National Young Leadership Cabinet for six years, she went on to work in the Women’s Campaign regionally and nationally. Janet served on the boards of the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Services and the Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. In addition she has been a trustee for The Park School of Baltimore and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Following the diagnosis of her son, Sam, of Autism, Janet has become very involved in community organizations addressing Autism. Now that her son is an adult, she is aware of the need for services for adults with autism, and other disabilities. Janet is co-chair of the Caring Commission, which address social services needs in the community through The Associated. Janet also volunteers with local agencies who offer supported employment, as well as developing independent living skills and social skills for those adults on the Autism Spectrum.

Janet is married to Richard, and has two adult children.
