Rachel Taubman has been a key player in the Federation of Metropolitan Detroit’s young adult engagement initiatives for nearly two years. A seasoned outreach expert and event planner, Rachel’s background in Jewish communal work began as a BBYO youth group and NFTY advisor and staffer of teen missions to Israel and alternative spring break trips. Now a core staff member of NEXTGen Detroit, Rachel works with lay-leaders and professionals to create a dynamic and vibrant city for the local, young Jewish adult population. One day she is coordinating the largest outreach event of the year with over 1,000 participants, and the next day she is running Pitch for Detroit, an annual sports tournament that raised $30,000 in 2014 for a Detroit firehouse. In Rachel’s world, no two days are the same and no two problems have the same solution — and that is just the way she likes it.
